Can't Update to a new Cpanel version due to OS version & Vice Versa

    I tried to set the Release Tier to Stable rather than Current to check if that will work but it was blocked, Unfortunately to upgrade to CloudLinux 8 the cPanel version shouldn't be a Long term Support since in this documentation ELevate it states that LTS versions are not supported.

    I would reach out to the CloudLinux team to let them know you've found this, as that is a different tool than the ELevate we developed to move from CentOS 7.

    We did reach out to the CloudLinux team, but since we purchased the license from cPanel store they directed us to contact the reseller . we will continue to chat with them in hopes of resolving this issue, but till now the solution for this problem seems to reinstall an operating system on the same server or get a new one, the problem is that there is a handful of servers with a lot of accounts in each one , all with the same issue . is there a way to bypass cPanel's condition for the OS, like is there an exception that can be made or anything in that matter ? in order to update it and then update the OS ?

    No, there isn't a way to update to version 112 - I did test that just now on a cPanel system. Could you submit a ticket to our team so we can do some more research on this?

    Hello, we did submit a ticket and we were informed that our current cPanel version ( 110.0.12 ) is ok for the upgrade, even though it is listed as an LTS but it is fully updated so that's why we can go through with the process, we will experiment it multiple times at first before trying it on a production server . We will keep this thread updated with any necessary information in order to keep anyone interested with this issue in touch Thank you for your help .

    Hello, we tried multiple times with the enormous help and support of both the CloudLinux and cPanel support team but we didn't succeed . We do have a question, if we removed the CloudLinux license, then we return to the Centos 7 OS, can we use the cPanel elevate script to upgrade to AlmaLinux 8 ?

    Yes, if you remove the CloudLinux license, the system will revert to CentOS and you can try that upgrade path.
