upload failed, server indicated http error 500

I'm encountering an error when attempting to upload a file to cPanel using the file manager. It reaches 100% completion, but then displays an error message stating, "the upload failed. the server indicated http error 500 (internal error). cPanel." Please refer to the attached photo for a clearer understanding. This issue is affecting all of my customers as well.

  Have you checked the site/server level error log? 500 is way too generic to guess what it is without an error log entry

  /usr/local/cpanel/logs/error_log is always the first place to check when there is an issue in the interface. I'd start there and let us know what you find!

  I have the same error, but it is with particular files the strange thing is that it says error 500 but it loads the file.
