Are CentOS and Almalinux safe over CVE-2023-4911?

Hi, A high-risk CVE was discovered recently: RedHat article and an The command does not segfault in CentOS 7/Cloudlinux 7/AL 8 so I assume that they're safe, but I would like a confirmation for peace of mind. Thanks!, Ignacio

  Hello, Almalinux 8 and 9 already released an update have a look at the updated glibc packages here AlmaLinux Product Errata. You can install dnf-automatic configure it according to your preferences and that will help with peace of mind .

  You do not need to reboot the server for package updates. A reboot is usually only necessary if there are changes to the kernel.

  you can always check that with a command like needs-restarting --reboothint (as root) .
