CPANEL-43534 - Using a link form CP email of "WordPress Updates Digest" gives security error
-
Hello, Using latest CP 114. I received from my CP installation an email titled "WordPress Updates Digest". At the bottom it has this text: " "WPT::AdminAutoUpdates" notifications are currently configured to have an importance of "Low". You can change the importance or disable this type of notification in WHM"s Contact Manager at: notification - I did not find any matching notification. I tried to filter by "update" but nothing, I tried without any filter to sort by importance but nothing similar for all the "low" items. Am I missing something here? 0 -
I went ahead and merged these posts because the fix for either would resolve the other. I actually created a case about this behavior a while back, so I'll reach out to the team to see if there has been any progress on that yet. 0 -
Sorry for the delay on this issue - our development managers have been part of an all-week training, so the responses to questions on my end have been delayed a bit. I'll be sure to post as soon as I have more details. 0 -
Sorry for the delay on this. I've went ahead and created case CPANEL-43534 for our team to update that notification template to provide better instructions for the end user. We also have case CPANEL-37706 created to change how WP Toolkit integrates with our contact manager system in general, but I don't see much action on that one just yet. If I hear any updates on either of these cases I'll be sure to post them here. 0 -
Thanks, this feature of WP Toolkit doesn't feel very "baked"... it needed more QA before release to GA 0 -
Adding - the same, token error, happens for the links of the email of "Root Login from Local Machine": " Domain: xxx.com Service: cron Authentication Database: system Username: root Known Network ": Yes " A "Known Network" is an IP address range or netblock that contains an IP address from which a user successfully logged in previously. To configure your Brute Force Protection settings, use WHM"s cPHulk Brute Force Protection interface at: 0 -
If the main issue is fixed, the token issue will also be fixed as well, so I'd expect those to happen at the same time. 0 -
Hi cPRex,
I am now on CP 126.0.16 and the same issues:
1. The link in the email ends up on the home page of my CP, not at a page I can change or disable this digest email
2. I cannot find where to stop or change this setting.
Please help me!

I don't see that this issue has been resolved yet. I've reached out to the team to see if this is something they do plan to fix, but I haven't heard back from them yet either. Once I have an update I'll be sure to post!

Hi cPRex, I also need a way to stop this, please guide me...

I don't have an alternative workaround and I haven't heard back from the team just yet on the issue.

Alright, I finally have an update on this. The WP Toolkit team isn't able to resolve this and sent it back to cPanel, so I've let our development managers know to give this some priority as it is an older case. I'll post other updates as soon as I get them.

Thank you for checking.
I very sad and frustrated to read this. You have a feature that customers cannot control or adjust and it is spamming them. This is a great sing of incompetence and lesser value of the product.
