Which forum software will be used?

We chose 2018 because that is the EasyApache 4 release time. Much of the data before that is older EA 3 information that is no longer relevant. We'll be moving the Forums inside our support portal, which uses Zendesk. This way you only need one login to access everything - tickets, forums, support articles, etc.

Would it be possible to turn the current forum to a readonly archive for the threads or is this not something the company is willing to maintain cost wise or technically possible. Some problems that have been fixed in the past might resurface someday and having that information at least for reference could be beneficial with a big disclaimer of course that it is historical data. Not to mention getting a lot of search engine results that suddenly turn up as a possible 404 or not a proper 301 redirect to relatable information. I applaud the move itself it absolutely makes sense but deleting historic information can only be done once and the worth of it will highly depend per person.

We're not able to turn *this* area into a read-only system due to security issues with the software, but we're exploring those options for sure!

ITHKBO- we're here!!!  Now that the main migration is complete and things went well, we're going to think about importing some older data.  It wouldn't be ALL the data since that goes back to 2002, but we'll see about doing another subset.

    Thanks cPRex for the headsup,

Are we going to get the react to and like button back in the new software?
Or atleast something simular to let someone know the message was read.

In addition the option to preview our message before submitting to check for formatting issues.

We aren't going to get reactions, but there is the upvote button to the right of each reply.  That's as close as we're going to get.

There isn't going to be a preview option.
