Clueful Newbie
Promise to keep this concise. I am BRAND NEW to this environment of modern web stuff.
I am hosting on Bluehost VPS a site for a DOG MODEL. Have gigged a developer through fiverr. DO NOT want to give him the keys to the kingdom. Tasks:
(1) Create an account for him with the minimum privileges for his tasks. This includes SSL (purchased through Bluehost).
(2) Create the file structure via the terminal. Most fortuitously the server is Linux since that is most of my experience. I am passable at vim and... can RTFM like a champ.
(3) FTP the Branding Package to the PVS so the developer can use all the geegaws. I set up the FTP option but... is SSH no longer used? That is, is there a more secure option or has FTP been hardened in my decade away?
(4) FTP all the images the photographer will supply. We communicate via Google Drive. Eventually want to get the several hundred raw images onto my local drive.
Guess that starts it. I will troll to get the detailed answers-- techie blood!-- but need to get this gig cat to work since (his) time is (my) money.

Hey there! If you are creating an additional user for FTP, that user would not be able to take advantage of sFTP (which is FTP using SSH). In that case, FTP access to the specific directory is likely all that the developer would need. 0
