Disk quota notifications configuration
AnsweredI have a question about the disk usage and bandwidth notification settings under Tweak Settings (as documented in https://docs.cpanel.net/knowledge-base/cpanel-product/the-cpanel-config-file/).
There are three settings for disk space notifications for cPanel accounts:
- Notify admin or reseller when disk quota reaches "warn" state
- Notify admin or reseller when disk quota reaches "critical" state
- Notify admin or reseller when disk quota reaches "full" state
My question is: who is the "admin"? Are the notifications sent to the contact email address for the cPanel account? Or does it instead send a notification to the server administrator?
The reason for asking is that cPanel users sometimes say they don't receive disk space notifications. So I'm really trying to find out where and how these notifications are configured.
The "Send bandwidth limit notification emails" option does have a clear description: it explains that the option will "email users when they have exceeded their bandwidth". The disk space configuration seems less clear, unless I'm missing something obvious?

If you click that [?] in Account disk quota “warn” percentage [?]
you see:
The disk quota percentage at which an account enters the “warn” state. An email notification will be sent to the user.If you click that [?] in Notify admin or reseller when disk quota reaches “warn” state [?]
you see:
Notify the admin or reseller when an account has reached the “warn” disk quota state.so there are separate settings for users and admins (meaning root) or resellers.
For those you must have Disk quota usage warnings = ON

Thanks quietFinn, that makes sense now. I had missed the "An email notification will be sent to the user" bit under the disk quota percentages.
