SpamAssassin effectiveness

It seems lately that SpamAssassin on our server has lost a lot of its effectiveness at combating spam. I am wondering how everyone else has their SpamAssassin configured. Are there any plugins that should be enabled to make it more effective? Any specific configuration options? Does SpamAssassin run under system perl (/usr/bin/perl) or cPanel perl (/usr/local/cpanel/3rdparty/bin/perl)?

  Hello :) Do you have any additional settings enabled to help prevent SPAM beyond SpamAssassin itself? There are several options available in "WHM Home " Service Configuration " Exim Configuration Manager" that you might find beneficial. As far as your other question, it's located here: /usr/local/cpanel/3rdparty/perl/514/bin/spamd
