The system stopped waiting to connect after 10 seconds
Hi,
does anyone know how I can solve the problem of the transfer tool giving this error:
The system stopped waiting to connect to "45.32.235.48" on port "22" after 10 seconds. Please?
That's all it says and gives up.
Thank you very much in advance.

Check the number of seconds an ssh connection can take before timing out in WHM>>>tweak settings 0 -
Thanks for that - it was already set to 500 but I upped it to the max - 3600 and still got The system stopped waiting to connect to "46.32.235.48" on port "22" after 10 seconds. Thank you anyway. 0 -
Check the firewall is open on both ends to allow the default ( but unsafe) port 22 connection 0 -
Hi, yes, 22 is open both servers. Thanks anyway. I jsut tried to transfer using account password and got this: Failed to execute sql method do: DBD::mysql::db do failed: Got error -1 from storage engine at /usr/local/cpanel/Cpanel/DBBackend.pm line 104 Cpanel::DBBackend::_retried_sql('Whostmgr::Transfers::Session=HASH(0x44b78c0)', 'do', 'INSERT INTO `session_463223548noroo20140629191947TvWpogO0` (sect...') called at /usr/local/cpanel/Cpanel/DBBackend.pm line 62 Cpanel::DBBackend::_retried_do('Whostmgr::Transfers::Session=HASH(0x44b78c0)', 'INSERT INTO `session_463223548noroo20140629191947TvWpogO0` (sect...') called at /usr/local/cpanel/Whostmgr/Transfers/Session.pm line 638 Whostmgr::Transfers::Session::set_data('Whostmgr::Transfers::Session=HASH(0x44b78c0)', 'HASH(0x7f1247da1d90)') called at /usr/local/cpanel/Whostmgr/Transfers/Session/Setup.pm line 48 Whostmgr::Transfers::Session::Setup::__ANON__() called at /usr/local/cpanel/Cpanel/CPAN/Try/Tiny.pm line 119 eval {...} called at /usr/local/cpanel/Cpanel/CPAN/Try/Tiny.pm line 108 Cpanel::CPAN::Try::Tiny::try('CODE(0x40f4290)', 'Try::Tiny::Catch=SCALAR(0x2d11e90)') called at /usr/local/cpanel/Whostmgr/Transfers/Session/Setup.pm line 54 Whostmgr::Transfers::Session::Setup::setup_session_obj('HASH(0x7f1247d94a10)', 'HASH(0x7f1247da1d90)') called at /usr/local/cpanel/Whostmgr/Transfers/Session/Preflight/RemoteUser/Create.pm line 39 Whostmgr::Transfers::Session::Preflight::RemoteUser::Create::create_remote_user_transfer_session('HASH(0x7f1247d94330)') called at whostmgr/bin/whostmgr5 line 1709 main::donorootcopy() called at whostmgr/bin/whostmgr5 line 263

Can you ssh to the remote server from a shell? 0 -
no. I cannot. 0 -
Well, thats your problem. The transfer tool uses ssh so if you can't connect from a shell you won't be able to transfer the account. Check the remote server is running, ( we couldn't ping the IP listed above) . If you can login to the remote server via WHM then investigate their firewall or get the remote server admin to do it. 0 -
Thanks for that. I have control over both servers so I disabled 46's I then used the transfer tool and got a new error message - virtually the same as the one above! I've raised a cpanel ticket. Thanks for your help, much appreciated. 0 -

Hello :) Could you post your ticket number here so we can review it and update this thread with the outcome? Thanks.0 -
5168301 But the old server will be turned off soon. 0 -
To update, it looks like the primary issue here was from the use "innodb_force_recovery" on the destination server. Disabling it appears to have resolved the issue. Thank you. 0
