Email Restoration

Hi, I'm new to the forum and was wondering if someone can help. The server got rebooted and for some reason a portion of our emails from specific dates was lost. Is there any way we can restore that or look for on CPanel to get it back? Thanks!

  Hello :) The fact that files were deleted during a reboot could indicate filesystem corruption. Do you have backups enabled for your accounts? If so, you could restore the emails from a backup archive. Thank you.

  Are we talking about backup archives on each account or in CPanel itself in the backup restoration options?

  It could be any backup that was generated for the account (e.g. WHM backups, cPanel backups, manual backups) that includes email data. Thank you.

  Hello, The fact is that a simple reboot should never delete files. It might do that if you pull the plug (power) or hard reset the server, but if you did a proper reboot of the server, then it should not have deleted any data and if it did, then as cPanelMichael stated, that could indicate file system corruption.

  Thanks Peter and Michael! Unfortunately, we couldn't find any backup. I had to manually turn on the backup on the global settings on Backup Restoration. :(

  You will not be able to recover the files if you have no backups. You may want to consult with your hosting provider or data center to let them know files were deleting during a reboot, indicating a problem with the filesystem or hard drive. Thank you.
