Hello, Did you use cPanel/WHM to upgrade to MariaDB? If so, per the warnings in the interface and in our documentation: The system considers MariaDB to be an upgrade to MySQL. If you change the database engine to MariaDB, you cannot change back to MySQL. Thank you.

Why is there this limitation? Because you can not go back to MySQL after upgrading to MariaDB? Thank you very much!

Well my last post got deleted so let's try again... Often, people ask "cPanel has this behavior I don't like. Is there a way to work around it?" and the response is "Put in a feature suggestion." Nowhere is it made clear that most suggestions take weeks/months to get in, if they get in at all. This is the nature of software development, but people need to realize that if they are facing a situation where they need to change something beyond what cPanel allows, putting in a suggestion is not going to provide them an expedient result. If they are having a problem that they need resolved *today*, then they need to keep pushing for answers.
