server monitoring
Are there any cost effective solutions for server monitoring.
The boss now has a bee in his bonnet over our outage at the weekend.
I don't want to monitor the csf emails, as there are far too many of them to be pestered every 30 minutes. This would drive me insane.
I only really want to monitor apache, MYSQL and exim, and to be notified if these are down.

Personally, I use Zabbix to monitor all of my servers. It's my personal preference though, but there are a lot of monitoring solutions out there. Zabbix, Nagios, etc. I hope this helps! 0 -
I found Uptime Robot, which i'm playing with at the moment. Seems OK, will also update a Twitter feed, and twitter does a free SMS service 0
