server crashed - lost emails
My server bombed out on Saturday (ran out of space)
I managed to get it back up again, but during it's down time, a number of services had stopped or stalled etc.
Users were complaining of email timeout errors this morning, so I had to restart exim, which cured the error messages.
Looking in the main mailbox, there's a not a great deal of emails.
We'd normally expect about 50 or so over a weekend, there are about 6.
Firstly, i don't understand why exim accepted the 6 or so that it did, and what will happen to the ones that never arrived.
Will other mailservers try to resend, or have these been lost ?

I've answered my owm question. 2 day old emails are landing. 0 -
Hello :) I'm happy to see the emails are now arriving. The amount of time it takes for another delivery attempt, or if it happens at all, generally depends on the retry settings configured on the remote sender's server. Thank you. 0
