No reverse DNS (PTR) entries for cPanel account with dedicated IP
My server using centos & cpanel
i checked in intodns.com
for domain.com no problem
but for cpanel account with dedicated IP, for example clientdomain1.com, get this error message :
ERROR: No reverse DNS (PTR) entries. The problem MX records are: 1.2.3.4.in-addr.arpa -> no reverse (PTR) detected You should contact your ISP and ask him to add a PTR record for your ips
Can i solved it by my self, or need to contact ISP to set reverse the dedicated ip to domain clientdomain1.com? in this person post in wht, he said can solved it by himself [QUOTE=funkseo;8568551]I have solved without contacting ISP. There was a missing record on DNS for mx. I added 2 mx records mail.example.org and example.org I don't get any error now.
but which part is he mean? i check in WHM > Edit DNS Zone > clientdomain1.com already have this line : mail 14400 IN CNAME clientdomain1.com.

I think i already solved it, checked with intodns.com no above message again: - WHM > Exim Configuration Manager > Send mail from account"s dedicated IP address: to On - then contact ISP request rdns the dedicated ip to mail.clientdomain1.com is this 2 steps already correct & enough guys? hope will help others that need this information 0 -
Hello :) Yes, those steps are sufficient. Thank you. 0 -
@Michael, I have a question, Without creating RDNS from IP provider end (such as ISP, Datacenter, etc..,) will work ? Because till now I used to create RDNS for our client in our server (We have own IP pools). 0 -
Hello :) It depends if your provider has delegated the ability to control RDNS records to your server. If so, then you can follow the instructions at: How to Configure Reverse DNS for BIND in WHM - cPanel Knowledge Base - cPanel Documentation Thank you. 0
