Reset Password Button Webmail Portal
Does anyone know of a way to do this, with a plugin or something. Just trying to avoid calls for password resets. We have just added SMCP to our server so the "true end user" can logging and release messages and train dspam Spam Filter through the Webmail Portal. It would be really nice to be able to have some sort of way for the "true end user" to be able to reset a password themselves with some sort of account verification questions or a secondary email address providing a temp password in which they can change after they login to the Webmail Portal. We would have almost no calls unless something serious is happening.

Hello :) It's not possible at this time, but it's in the planning stages. You can follow the progress at the feature request page: Ability for Email users to reset their password using a link outside of cPanel Thank you. 0 -
Thanks for the input, I would love to see this built in. In the mean time if anyone knows of a third party plugin that does this please let me know. 0 -
I'm happy to inform you this feature is available in cPanel version 56: Password Reset for All | cPanel Blog cPanel version 56 is not yet released to production build tiers, but you can review the release process if you want a better understanding of each build tier: cPanel & WHM Versions and the Release Process - cPanel Knowledge Base - cPanel Documentation Thank you. 0 -
Hi, I do not see that this is available, the link you put links to resetting cpanel login, not email login. Where is the instructions for email login password reset on webmail? thanks! 0 -
@dataforge - this thread is over 5 years old, so it's best to make a new thread for new questions. If you visit yourdomain.com/webmail you'll see a "Reset Password" link at the bottom of that page. I've attached an image showing this on a default cPanel installation: 0 -
hmm i do not have that here is what i have https://i.imgur.com/mwF2RlQ.png Ya, this thread is old. I found it in searching, so updating it would be helpful for others as well that also come across it Edit - ok I see the issue now. in this thread there is instructions on how to do enable the option. Ability for Email users to reset their password I have enabled this option and I now have it. I missed that enabling this would allow webmail resets, i thought it was just for cpanel resets. thanks! 0 -
Thanks for the screenshot. I see you are a reseller, so it's possible the "Reset Password for cPanel accounts" and "Reset Password for Subaccounts" option is disabled in the feature list on that machine. If those are both removed, that link will not show up. Can you check that, or have the server admin check that? 0
