Selection not saving in Contact Manager > Notifications
For some reason, the selections made under Notifications in Contact Manager are not being saved. After we click save, we go back and they're all unselected.
We need to enable these in order to receive backup notifications from the system. Any ideas? Thanks!

These save to /var/cpanel/icontact_event_importance.json - perhaps check that this file is present and not set to immutable or something. 0 -
Hello, Could you let us know of any output to /usr/local/cpanel/logs/error_log when this happens? Also, which version of cPanel is installed on the system? Thank you. 0 -

Thanks for your prompt response on this. I checked the error log but I didn't find anything out of the ordinary related to that section.0 -

Thanks, Vanessa. The file is in fact there: -rw------- 1 root root 2122 May 6 11:32 icontact_event_importance.json I'm not sure if the permissions are correct? I would assume if they weren't, it would turn something up in the error log. Thanks for your assistance. Lucas C.0 -

Please post the output from the following command:cat /usr/local/cpanel/version
I was unable to reproduce the issue on cPanel version 56.0.14. Thank you.0 -

Could you open a support ticket using the link in my signature so we can take a closer look? You can post the ticket number here so we can update this thread with the outcome. Thank you. 0 -

Just opened it. Ticket ID 7542779 Thanks!0 -
To update, per the support ticket, the user was advised to click "Save" under each tab in "WHM >> Contact Manager" rather than making changes across multiple tabs in this interface. Thank you. 0 -
I'm seeing the same behavior in Cpanel v100.0.5 in the contact manager, under a single tab; "notifications". Select some or even all, and on saving (never leaving that same tab) and going back to that tab after, they're all unselected. It looks like the json file is being updated, based on the time stamp, but without being able to see what's been chosen it's not helpful to troubleshoot of I don't get an email about something and so on. Any thoughts on what's going on there? I also saw the same thing with backups when configuring those. Made all my choices, and on going back they were not saved. Configuring and saving a second time worked, but it's absurd having to go back and do everything twice (or more) with no indication it's worked. ;) 0 -
@bear - it's usually best to open a new thread as you're likely to get a quicker reply since I didn't come across this one until just now. The boxes to the left of each option in the WHM >> Contact Manager page are not designed to stay enabled. Those boxes are only used if you are making mass changes to multiple options at once. However, the contact priority setting in the dropdown menu toward the right of the page is what stays consistent. Does that make sense? I'm not able to reproduce the issue on the WHM >> Backup Configuration page at this time as the selections are working for me how I would expect. 0
