smtp connection failed but which device.
I'm seeing a number of these smtp failures, but I've no way to identify which device or account.
2016-06-22 14:15:44 SMTP connection from [xx.xxx.xxxx.xxx]:1033 (TCP/IP connection count = 2)
2016-06-22 14:15:46 dovecot_plain authenticator failed for hostxx.xxx.xxx.xxx.in-addr.btopenworld.com ([192.168.1.179]) [xx.xxx.xxx.xxx]:1033: 535 Incorrect authentication data
2016-06-22 14:15:46 SMTP connection from hostxx.xx.xxx.xxx.in-addr.btopenworld.com ([192.168.1.179]) [xx.xxx.xxx.xx]:1033 lost
I know that it's internal to the office due to the btopenworld IP and I can tell from the 192.168.x.x IP address that this is probably a mobile device, but there's nothing in the log which gives any indication as to which account is flagging the failure. If i knew this, then i could hazzard a guess to whch device it is.
Where would i find which device or account is rejecting the login.

Using a network discovery tool, I've actually identified which device is causing this, so I'll look at the accounts on the phone tomorrow. However, i'm still confused as to why the logs don't tell me this ? 0 -
Hello, That level of logging is not currently offered with Dovecot or Exim. I found a discussion on the Dovecot mailing list regarding the logging of the user-agent, but I see no support for the logging of the device name as you see with Google: Dovecot - Mail User Agent Thank you. 0
