    Hello, Have you considered deleting the email account first, and then setting up a filter rule that redirects emails sent to that address to another email account, and then fails with a message? Thank you.

    I did, however, the user is a remote user, who wouldn't have a clue how to configure her email client with the new account details.

    Hello, Could you post the output from /var/log/exim_mainlog for one of the messages when this happens? EX:
    exigrep user@domain /var/log/exim_mainlog

    I tried again only this time using my own account. And this time, it was delivered to the inbox and also received a fail message. I'll try again on the users mailbox
