giving impression that user no longer exists
I have an email user who wants to give the impression that her email address no longer exists, but still receive messages.
I created a user level filter to fail with message then deliver to inbox.
When testing, I get the bounce message, but the mail never hits the inbox.
Or if i have it deliver to inbox then fail with message, I never receive the bounce.
Is it possible to have a filter to send a bounce message but still deliver the email ?

Hello, Have you considered deleting the email account first, and then setting up a filter rule that redirects emails sent to that address to another email account, and then fails with a message? Thank you. 0 -
I did, however, the user is a remote user, who wouldn't have a clue how to configure her email client with the new account details. 0 -
Hello, Could you post the output from /var/log/exim_mainlog for one of the messages when this happens? EX: exigrep user@domain /var/log/exim_mainlog
Thank you.0 -
I tried again only this time using my own account. And this time, it was delivered to the inbox and also received a fail message. I'll try again on the users mailbox 0 -
