Its going to be tricky, you need to download the src package inside /var/cpanel/easy/apache/custom_opt_mods and tell easyapache to compile it from there.

Hi, I need a new server with cpanel, but with php 5.3. I can install php 5.3 in centos 6.8 by yum. Is it possible install cpanel and remove http and php to install by yum? Best regards Joao

EasyApache 4 does not support php 5.3. You have 2 options. 1) Revert EasyApache 4 to EasyApache 3. 2) Using CloudLinux.

Hello, Support for end-of-life PHP versions is not currently planned with EasyApache 4, and you can't revert to EasyApache 3 on new cPanel installations. You can vote and review the existing comments on the following feature request if you'd like to express your support for legacy PHP support: Allow to install PHP 5.3 in Easy Apache 4 with the understanding that these versions are not secure. The recommended alternative at this time is to use software such as CloudLinux, as it supports legacy versions of PHP through the PHP Selector utility: CloudLinux Documentation Thank you.
