Are there any significant gains to be had EA4

I updated my server a month ago, to EA4, and i'm looking for significant gains to apache and web site performance. I read that PHP7 for instance gives noted performance gains, but using Googles PageInsights I'm not seeing this. I don't have any budget for litespeed, so was wondering if any mods or tweaks could yield any gains as far as Pagespeed insights goes ?

  Hello, Performance often varies depending on the types of websites you are hosting and your server's hardware. Could you provide some more background details on the types of websites you are hosting (e.g. pure HTML, WordPress, etc), how many websites, and your current hardware specifications? Thank you.

  The server has only 4 domains on there, 3 of which are running Cubecart and emails (about 30 users) the 4th has only 4 email users. Dedicated Server, running CentOS 6 2.8GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor 4GB RAM 2 x 250GB SATA HDD average bandwidth seems to be around 300kb To press, I updated one of my web sites from PHP5.6 to PHP7, and I installed memcache, but Googles page insights can see no improvement to performance. Performance is average.

  You can use pagespeed module to getter better score and of-course use PHP7 /HHVM for faster dynamic content processing

  I looked at the pagespeed module, but when I tried to install it, it complained of needing httpd 2.2, and doesn't seem to have installed.

  PageInsights talks about minifying css and php, and then some nonsense about reducing a file size. When I say nonsense, the particular file is 7kb in size, so hardly any gains to be had. I've minified a few CSS files, which gained me a point or two. The biggest thing it talks about is 'leveraging browser caching', despite Cubecart utilisng cache, and the server having cache deployed. Then another nonsense figure where it complains of a poor response time of 0.31seconds. It took longer to type the URL than it took for the page to respond. Given the few nonsense numbers, I'm beginning to wonder how much of it is relevent to be honest. My main reasoning for this thread was to see if there was anything withing EA4 that might affect performance as far as Apache and PHP goes. By swapping to PHP7, i saw a gain from 79 points to 83, and only a few more points with the minified css files. Certainly not the substantial gains that i'd read and hoped about.

  Running PageInsight tests also results in wildly different scores, so again I'm not sure how accurate the results really are. It can be as high as 88 one minute and down to 78 the next. It achieved a score of 79 with PHP5.6. So maybe I'm just wasting my time with it.

  Is the "Optimize Website" icon showing for you in your cPanel under the Software section? If yes, you might find the Compress All Content option, helpful. Certainly worth enabling if only to see if it breaks anything on your site. ;)

  I found that feature late last week and applied it. The site still appears to work OK, but again, no significant points awared by PageInsights. However, as I stated earlier, running the page insights test can show wildly fluctuating numbers from one test to the next.
