Apache Status

Looking in my apache status, I see a number of entries for port 80 on the root of my server. I have no web site asscociated with the root of the server, so any connection to this results in defaultwebpage.cgi. Am I correct in assuming that these are indeed connections to the default web page. And if so, then considering nothing is there and no one therefore should be looking, is there anything I could do to block these, or am i just being paranoid.
