DNS cluster sharing amongst vps servers
We have many managed VPS cpanel servers in our cluster. Now they share 2 DNS servers which are using dns clustering.
We would like to be able to give customers full root access. But we do not want them to be able to view other customers DNS zones when they click Edit DNS Zone.
How is this done correctly? Currently we have customers using a different account with edit reseller privileges and DNS and MX options ticked.
Note: All VPS servers connect to 2 identical DNS servers, for example cvdns1 and cvdns2.
Thanks

Hi, We would like to be able to give customers full root access. But we do not want them to be able to view other customers DNS zones when they click Edit DNS Zone. -> If this is a shared server, then do not give root acces to your users.. root is a super user and you cannot restrict it.. How is this done correctly? Currently we have customers using a different account with edit reseller privileges and DNS and MX options ticked. -> All the DNS zones can be edited by the reseller through their WHM user access and all cPanel users can use "Advanced DNS editors" in the cPanel interface to do this. 0 -
Hello, Connecting multiple (separately operated) servers to a single DNS cluster isn't recommended at this time. We have a feature request open for this at: Ownership and access control of zones in the dns server. Thank you. 0 -
Hello! I would like to know if there is still no secure way to share a DNS cluster with other VPS that are operated separately and can only create and modify their own zones. Thanks 0 -
I don't, but I'll bring up that older feature request with the team this week. 0
