Configure auto restart for service after it is updated
Hello,
From time to time I get an email from my CP installation, that is like:
"
Detected 1 service that is running outdated executables: httpd.service You must take one of the following actions to ensure the system is up-to-date:
• Restart the listed service using “systemctl restart httpd.service”; then click “Scan Again” to check non-service processes.
• Reboot the server.
"
The service name may change.
This forces me to login and manually restart the service.
Is there a way for me to configure that any or specific services will be automatically restarted following such updates?

Hey hey! No, there isn't a way to do that. This is designed to work with systems that could interrupt the user experience, such as Apache or MySQL, so we don't automatically restart those to prevent downtime.

Thank you. I asked for a enhancement to this at https://features.cpanel.net/topic/22867-allow-admins-to-restart-a-service-after-it-is-updated

I did see that come in just now. I'm going to do our final features work for the year either next week or early January so I'll get to it soon!

Thank you very much!
Why posts here don't have a "Like" or similar button?

The closest thing we have is the upvote arrow to the right of each post.
