no more support tickets ?!
hello
did cpanel suddenly stop technical support tickets if you use a hosting company ?
i am with Contabo and their support in Cpanel is virtually non existent
what should we do now ?! Cpanel keeps increasing prices but removes support ?!

When my colleagues laughed that I was paying hundreds of euros per month for my cpanel licences, I always replied that the value of the ticket support was worth all that cost. Now without this possibility I will definitely consider something else. Also because buy directly on cpanel is basically another cost increase. A licence that costs the same as a dedicated server starts to be something to think about.
Terrible business choice.1 -
WebJIVE - all you have to do is cancel your current license and then buy one through our store. It's just that easy :)

No, you can't have the license activated twice. You'll have to cancel, then order a new one, then just run this command:
/usr/local/cpanel/cpkeyclt
Yes, this means your server will technically not have a license during this period, but that entire process should only take a few minutes.

There are currently no paid ticket options - all licenseholders receive priority support.

I've just tried to submit a technical support ticket only to find out about this issue whereby cPanel will no longer offer me technical support because my licenses are from a thrid party. This is depsite the third party charging me exactly the same price as cpanel.net.
This is really quite depressing after over fifteen years of excellent service.
What really annoys me is that I have checked all the emails cPanel sent me and there has been absolutely no attempt to offer any advance warning about this situation.
Seemingly, and I'm waiting for a follow up on this, WebPros have created a situation where direct support will only be available if we all ditch all those third party cPanel resellers who helped promote their product for so long in the first place.
I'm sick of bottom liners who only ever concern themselves with profit over service.

3.14fingers - if your license isn't purchased through cPanel, your license provider/host will be the primary point of contact for support issues.

Whats even more incredible is, while they are forcing their support on their resellers - THEY HAVE BLOCKED THE ABILITY FOR CUSTOMERS WHO HAVE PURCHASED APPS FROM THEIR STORE, TO LODGE SUPPORT TICKETS - becuase they are doing everything to block people who dont have a cpanel license through them, even if you have purchased jetbackup or immunify 360 with them - you can't lodge a support ticket.
So in my case, I had jet backup help me after contacting them.
They have been aware of this for over 5 / 6 months - but they don't care, becuase it's saving them money
Does anyone have anyone from a news group or something like that who can be made aware of this.
I'm currently going ahead and starting to contact all of their resellers to see if Cpanel is in breach of contract by not supporting thid party software purchaesd through their store, in case of course you know their email, you would have no idea why they are doing this and also what they did to their customer for the exact same thing0 -
Robert Krajnyk - you have multiple tickets open with the cPanel supervisors and they will be addressed soon. We do plan to adjust the license check system to allow support for directly-purchased licenses in the future.
I will say, if there is any future legal talk, I have to either lock the thread or remove the post.
