Email Deliverability

We did a test migration of a cpanel account from VPS 1 to VPS 2 using the transfer tool. No DNS records were updated on the domain itself. We just wanted to see how long the transfer would take.
We have since deleted the account on VPS 2 however VPS 1 now seems to be trying to use the IP address from VPS 2 to send email. We can see this in the mail queue manager which is using the wrong IP address i.e. VPS 2's ip address instead of it's own.
Any idea how we can fix this?

For some reason an incorrect record was added to /etc/manualmx. Removing the record fixed the problem.
