ARG! System won't boot while upgrading to Rocky 8
I've been running the Elevate project to get of CentOS to Rocky 8 - all seemed to be going quite well, had a couple of reboots - but now I've totally lost it. I'm with Hetzner and using the KVM service I can see that it has booted to a grub rescue. LS shows me a bunch of bits, but only (md/2) and (md/1) are filesystem ext2 - If I look at (md/1) I can see a grub2 folder, so I'm trying set root=(md/1) set prefix=(md/1)/grub2/ - run insmod normal, but still get the same issue - symbol grub_real_boot_time not found

Hey there! I'm sorry to hear you ran into that issue! It's hard to say what may have caused that, but I'd expect there to be more details inside
/var/log/leapp/leapp-report.txt
that would point you in the right direction. If the server isn't booting, it's never a bad idea to reach out to the host to have them double-check things.

I'm struggling in grub rescue at the moment - can't get past grub_real_boot_time not found - tried a variety of setting now - feeling lost :(

I'm in as a rescue user - this is the last part of the logs

Unfortunately that doesn't tell us anything useful as that just shows some low priority warnings and information about the update, which isn't anything that would lead to a crash. I'd be reaching out to the host to have them check things.

As I said in first post, grub2 looks kapuut - You asked for ls and I posted as requested.
The whole things has been a disaster, to the point I've started from scratch - I got logged out of the forum (even though I'd posted a message above), cpanel wanted me to validate my account, but my server was down so no way to access email, no way to talk to anyway - and as it's a reseller cpanel license cpanel don't care anyway, and hetzner don't support software.
Hugely frustrated by the whole event quite honestly and even now not back up and running

I'm sorry to hear that, but I am glad you're back up and running. If you have issues getting support through your Partner we'd like to hear about it, and you can always email cs@cpanel.net with those concerns.
