Sender has an outgoing mail hold
This is a little frustrating, because it's happening to my account!
Tweak Settings originally had "Max hourly emails per domain" set to 100. I've sent 40 emails in the last 2 hours, but I'm still getting warnings that I have an outgoing mail hold and it will try again later.
About 20 minutes ago I changed the setting to Unlimited, and the "Number of unique recipients" from 50 to 500. But I'm still unable to send emails.
What's the magic trick to get this to work? I have a LOT of emails that I need to send out, and can't realistically be limited to this degree.

It's now almost 4 hours later. I left my computer and was watching TV, so no emails were sent. I came back and sent one at 11:45pm (a reply to someone), and again had the warning returned:
A message that you sent could not be delivered to one or more of its
recipients. This is a temporary error. The following address(es) deferred:
foo@gmail.com
Sender me@example.com has an outgoing mail hold. Message will be reattempted later0 -
Well, I figured it out so I'll post it here for posterity.
I went to:
/etc/outgoing_mail_hold_users
In the text file was my email address; last modified time was 6:48pm and it's now midnight, so I don't know why it's still there. But I removed it then restarted Exim, and now all seems OK.

I'm glad you found the solution - if you check the Exim log are there any other details as to why there was a hold initially?
