File Permissions revert when using cPanel AutoSSL
I am trying to retain file permissions that I have set manually in "/var/cpanel/ssl/autossl/excludes/accounts.json". Each file I have set to 0646; however, when I use "cPanel > Security > SSL/TLS Status" to either "Exclude a domain from AutoSSL" or "Include a domain in AutoSSL", the file permissions revert back to 0640! This prevents me from viewing or editing the file using my own script via another cpanel account that I use on the same server. Please advise how to keep the files in the ../excludes folder as to what I have set them?

Hey there! There isn't going to be a way to keep those file permissions. cPanel will reset those as part of nightly maintenance.

Hi, There absolutely must be a way of retaining file permissions I set manually in this location, even if it means setting up a php script to perform the change on-the-fly. I would be grateful if anyone could apply their infinite wisdom to this insanely absurd idiosyncrasy of cPanel. It's driving me nuts, and puts a very big spanner in the works!

There isn't a way to change the data inside /var/cpanel - cPanel owns that directory and expect it to be a certain way at all times.
Can you get me more details about what you're trying to do?
