Should be working fine. Can you try the same from WHM?

This was both from the command line, or in WHM via install PECL modules

I created a test server and ran the installation command for PHP 8.2 and didn't run into any issues there.  While there is a lot of output from the install, did it say there were any dependencies that may be missing?  Do you see anything in the cPanel log (/usr/local/cpanel/logs/error_log) or Apache log (/etc/apache2/logs/error_log) that may be helpful?

Zero is written to either log.

The text shown is the only message to the console

    root@secure [/opt/cpanel/ea-php82/root/usr/lib64/php/modules]# /opt/cpanel/ea-php82/root/usr/bin/pecl install xdebug
    downloading xdebug-3.3.1.tgz ...

That's odd - it might be best to create a ticket and we can perform some more advanced troubleshooting on your system.

The server will be decommissioned in a month, so I don't believe we will bother this time.
