After manual transfer using rsync disk quota is incorrect

    Usually that is because there are files / folders owned by that user outside of the user's home directory.

    What quietFinn said - it could be backups, or databases, or other files owned by the user outside of /home/username.

    Thank you chaps, I'd assumed that it was just calculated on the /home - I confirm there are other files outside /home which are owned by the user.
