I need instructions to protect the server from DDOS attacks
Welcome
I have a server and I provide hosting services. I have approximately 700 websites on the server, but recently I was exposed to DDOS attacks. These attacks continued for 20 days, and every day the server stops for 30 minutes.
On my server, I use cPanel, Cloudlinux, Litespeed, Imunify360
Now I am working on setting up a new server in order to transfer sites to it, but I need advice to protect against DDOS attacks and ensure the server is protected as much as possible.
One of the solutions that I am looking for is to hide the IP address of the server through CloudFlare. I tested this matter on one of the domains available to me, but when setting up the Private NameServer and linking it with Cloudflare, it did not work correctly. The problem that I faced when I directed one of the domains to the Name Server was not connected even after 72 hours. Can someone guide me to the correct steps?

Hey there! I can't speak for Cloudflare since that isn't something on our side, but they are a great tool for blocking DDoS attacks and are widely used by companies of all sizes just for that.
Additional details on this and using Litespeed's webserver security can be found here:
For smaller attacks you may be able to use Apache's mod_evasive to help stop the traffic to your server:
https://support.cpanel.net/hc/en-us/articles/360053581353-How-to-install-mod-evasive
but this will only help with the most basic of attacks.
