The SSL certificate for “cpanel” on “xxx” will expire in less than 30 days.
Hello, I'm getting this warning by WHM. For server cPanel Version 118.0.4. I'm confused because my other server automatically updates the same. It expires on Apr. 23.
The SSL certificate for “cpanel” on “xxx” will expire in less than 30 days. Also see the admin screenshot below.
Isn't it supposed to auto renew?

Hey there! Yes, it should auto-renew when it gets closer to the expiration date.

Thanks!

Sure thing - if that doesn't happen, let me know!

My ns1 name server just ran out of SSL.. Its not renewing.
Its a DNS Only cPanel box - so the host name SSL renewal should be fully automated?

Yes, it should be fully automated.
Do you see any errors when running /usr/local/cpanel/bin/checkallsslcerts ?

I wrote a support ticket, and was advised this is the issue: https://support.cpanel.net/hc/en-us/articles/21161235673751-checkallsslcerts-fails-on-DNS-Only-servers-or-where-AutoSSL-is-disabled
This fixed my issue - but seems like it will effect every DNS only server - so someone at cPanel should have included this in an update script!

I'm glad we were able to help get this resolved. The more general fix is scheduled to be included as part of cPanel 118.0.5 when that gets released.
