HTML website reverted to PHP.
In the past I used to edit my Wordpress website through cPanel directly from the root directory. My website is run though my host provider and is edited through cPanel. These files would be HMTL like index.html and contact.html and so on. After a few months of doing nothing in cPanel, I logged in this week to begin editing the website files as I would do. They are all PHP files though. All the HTML files are missing - there is no "index.html" and no website, no pages, no images, nothing, for me to configure. The website is visible on the web, but the website files are not showing up in cPanel directory that is connected with this website.
I have contacted my hosting provider but they are not able to understand what I mean.
Something has happened with the website files over the period in which I never logged into cPanel. I have checked my emails for wordpress linked to this website and there is no trace. I have checked my password files on my computer and there are no Wordpress login details associated with this website.
Would like some answers. Thanks.

If your hosting provider cannot / will not help you, why would you expect cPanel to help you. This isn't going to be a cPanel (company) issue. You simply need to figure out where your content actually exists.

If the site was created with WordPress, I would also expect there to be .php files and very few .html files on the account.
Unfortunately, like mtindor said, I don't think anyone on the Forum here will be able to help with this particular situation.
