Hey there!  I'm not seeing any similar reports of this on my end - could you create a ticket with our team so we can investigate this?

    Hi CPRex

Has there been a fix or workaround for this bug/glitch where cPanel advisor suggests to downgrade the kernel?

We have been  receiving a similar notification when using a server at GCP.  We are on Ubuntu 22, using kernel 6.5.0-1023-gcp but advisor suggests "updating" it to 5.15.0-1064-72.amd64.

High Kernel The system kernel is at version “6.5.0-1023-gcp”, but an update is available: 5.15.0-1064-72.amd64 Update the system (run “apt -y upgrade” on the command line), and reboot the system.

    Thanks

I haven't heard anything more on my end since the original poster in this thread didn't reply, so I don't think we got a ticket.  Could you submit one so we can check that out?

I sent in the ticket# 95247524 for this issue back then and was told it's a known issue: https://support.cpanel.net/hc/en-us/articles/14228817693847-Security-advisor-recommends-lower-kernel-version-for-some-Ubuntu-Kernels

Seems it's not going to be fixed but rather just to be ignored.

Thanks for sharing that - I did add this Forums conversation to that case.
