Godaddy Email broken after update
Hello,
Apparently, GoDaddy did an update to our cPanel some time on 4/16. Our users reported that they couldn't login, so I poked around and found that the link they saved from the old cPanel doesn't seem to be the same as with the old cpanel, so I helped them create a https://domain.com:2096 shortcut and they were able to mostly get in. Now they are reporting that any e-mail sent to them gets this error:
550 5.7.368 Remote server returned authentication required to relay -> 550 Please turn on SMTP Authentication in your mail client
I've been poking around for over an hour and have checked several settings including the mail routing (set to auto:local) and MX records. Nothing seems to be helping. Any ideas?'
Thanks.

Hey there! I wouldn't expect an update to cPanel to fundamentally change how email works on a system - that would just cause all sorts of issues for users.
Do you only have access to your particular cPanel account and not root access to the server? If so, you wouldn't be able to fix this type of issue.

I just have the cPanel GUI interface. I did call GoDaddy and they ended up escalating the issue, so I think something was just broke after the update. I'm waiting for a response from them, but the registered e-mail is our office manager who is off on Fridays, so I guess I'll find out Monday. :D I just sent a test message and it wasn't rejected, so I "think" they fixed it, but without the e-mail, I'm not sure what the problem was. If they tell me anything worthwhile, I'll post it back here. Thanks for the response.

Sounds good - I'd be interested to see what they say!

Sadly, I got an e-mail basically saying "the problem has been resolved." I can't justify dumping more time into the issue since it's fixed, but obviously something broke during the last update and they didn't catch it until we reported the issue. In general, I like GoDaddy for their pricing, and they give pretty good support for their premium packages, but for their basic services they don't seem as motivated. Thanks for all the assistance!

I'm at least glad they were able to get things working!
