Old Cpanel Web console
Hi
We have an old Cpanel server where there are still files but there is no license. We built a new server on Ubuntu which is running perfectly with a license. The old server was running on CentOS 7. I need to get files for a website on the old server. I am able to log in via CLI but the web console is rejecting the root password. I got this message on Cli
Activate the web console with: systemctl enable --now cockpit.socket
I ran that command but still unable to log into the web console. Is there another way I can activate the webconsole so I can download some websites?

Hey there! I'm not familiar with anything called "web console" inside cPanel. If there isn't a license on the machine you wouldn't be able to log in to WHM or cPanel, so it sounds like this tool is part of your hosting provider's environment - is that correct?
If so, you'd need to contact them for additional support.

I believe you are referring to the Cockpit server administration tool by RedHat (see https://www.redhat.com/sysadmin/intro-cockpit) - it's not anything to do with cPanel/WHM.
