How to install deprecated MySQL onto cpanel at server setup?
I am in a huge bind. Over the weekend one of my servers died with no apparent way to restore from RAID. I have a working cpanel backup of the one account on the server but it requires the old MySQL 5.5 in order to run (it might run on 5.7 but I don't know). The software is in the process of being updated to work with current versions but the new version it isn't done yet.
The problem is that when I install cpanel I don't know what to do in order to force it to install the old SQL version at the same time. Is there any way to do this? If not, what other options do I have?

Hey there! Unfortunately there is no way to install an older version of MySQL at this time - your only choice is between modern MySQL 8 and MariaDB. Details on that are in the pink box here:
The best option would be to create a new cPanel server with MySQL 8 and hope for the best, dealing with any issues that may come up individually.
