Slow ClamAV manual scan

Hi! I have a question about ClamAV.

It's scanning VERY slow. I'm not sure if it's normal. I've started a manual scan 48 hours ago and it's still showing only 62% completed. So, 3 days to scan ~130Gb of 500K emails on the VPS with 7 cores and 16Gb of RAM. I could be wrong, but I believe it should be several times faster. So I'm trying to understand, if ClamAV is really that slow or I have a perfomance issue with my VPS?

  Hey there!  I would expect this to be a bit quicker, yes.  On the server if you check "top" do you see any high I/O rates, or anything else that could be causing the slowness?

  I guess besides 2495 minutes runtime. So you mean it's just a slow VPS? We're using CentOS 7 + virtuozzo-based VPS.

  It's completely possible - it could be there are restrictions on the parent that you can't see that you are hitting, so it might be best to talk to the host to see if they can check things on their end.
