htaccess Rewrite help needed
- Before moving and updating my old/outdated vBulletin forum website, it was installed in the "forums" directory, The original URLs were https://www.mywebsite.com/forums/... (forums is plural). AND it had some SEO rewrites that the new vBulletin version can't handle on its own so I need a rewrite.

The new server doesn't use the "forums" directory so I can make a forums directory and set up an htaccess file to handle the rewrite of old incoming requests
Here are two examples of old URLs that would need rewrites

https://www.mywebsite.com/forums/canon/176449-canon-ir-adv-dx-c5850-e355-003-error.html needs to be rewritten with a google friendly redirect to https://www.mywebsite.com/showthread.php?t=176449 the vbulletin system will then find/load the correct/current page.

Here's another http://www.mywebsite.com/forums/kyocera-mita-copystar/71926-fs-3900-dn-printer.html needs to be rewritten to https://www.mywebsitte.com/showthread.php?t=71926
Any advice would be welcome, This is the last piece needed to complete my upgrade and server move. I have been trying to figure it out on my own for a few weeks and have made no progress. TIA

Hey there! cPanel itself doesn't manage custom code inside the .htaccess file, but hopefully another user will be able to share their experiences here to help!
