Exim Outgoing Custom Domains using ipv6
Hello,
I run a shared VPS with a main shared IPv4.
I want to assign IPv6 to a specific customer to send/receive his emails using his own IPv6 not the shared IPv4.
I followed all the steps here: https://docs.cpanel.net/knowledge-base/email/how-to-configure-the-exim-outgoing-ip-address/
I assigned the IPv6 to this customer first, then I added this configuration in "/etc/mailips" file
example.com: 2001:db8:3c4d:15::7334
Of course, I used the real domain name and IPv6 address!
Also, I set these configurations
WHM >> Exim Configuration Manager >> Domains and IPs
Send mail from the account’s IP address: Off
Use the reverse DNS entry for the mail HELO/EHLO if available: Off
Reference /etc/mailhelo for custom outgoing SMTP HELO: On
Reference /etc/mailips for custom IP on outgoing SMTP connections: On
But unfortunately, the domain is still sending and receiving emails using the shared server's IPv4.

Hey there! It seems there is a lot of misinformation about Exim and mail sending on IPv6 out there so I'm working with our team to get some more official details and once I have that information I'll be sure to let you know.

I spoke with the team and confirmed both with them and with my own testing that editing the mailips file as you did works well, so our documentation is correct.
Since you have a system where that isn't working properly could you submit a ticket so we can check that out?
