Email connect to Outlook issues weird things happening

Good day to you all.

 

I have set up numerous emails before with c panel and I just got another server set up and created an email and all is propogated.  I can send and receive no issues within the account, but when I try to connect to outlook, it says SMTP error. I am using mail.domain.com and it wont work.  However, if I use my server name server.domain.com it will work if I add this into incoming and outgoing. The standard settings that c panel gives me should work, but they don't for some odd reason and my dns is set up correct.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

  Hey there!  It sounds like this particular domain doesn't have a "mail" subdomain configured.  If you ping that mail subdomain, does it respond with an IP address?
