Email DNS setup without Parking Domain

I've previousty created a CNAME record for a sub domain that points externally at another server in cPanel without parking the domain.

Can I now add email accounts for this subdomain or do I have to remove the DNS records. Park the domain and re-add the original DNS records, which would create the correct MX and A records for the sub domain.

  Hey there!  In order to create email accounts, the domain has to exist on the system in a larger capacity than just a CNAME.  A park or addon domain would allow you to create emails.

  Yeah that's what I figured.

  Will I have to remove the CNAME records to park the domain.

  Or can I just create the sub domain and then remove the A records that will be created.

  Yes - the system won't let you create the domain if there are already DNS records in place.
