WPToolkit issues with CLoning Data
After using the WPToolkit Cloning feature to create subdomain (staging site) , it creates the subdomain with the added "staging."before the url that shows in the WPToolkit Wordpress Installations, and you can create a label.
The problem is when using the Cloning Feature from the live site to the staging site, the url of the staging site is overwritten and looses the "staging." before the url. The Cloning feature also overwrites the Label. Essentially they only way you can then tell the difference between the Live site and the Staging site, is that the Search Engine Indexing is turned off.
This also is an issue when using the Login button to login to the Wordpress Instance for the staging site, the button links you to your live site despite you clicking on Login for the Staging site.
There apears to be bugs in the system.
Is there a workaround for this, i.e. what file can we change to correct the issue for WPToolkit.

Hey there! Can you get me more details on this part of your post?
"The problem is when using the Cloning Feature from the live site to the staging site, the url of the staging site is overwritten and looses the "staging." before the url."
Can you let me know the exact steps you took in order for this to happen?

These are the steps I take;
1. In WPToolkit - I use the "Clone" Feature and use the default settings to create a staging site.
2. I then use the "Copy Data" feature and select the Target as the Staging Site which was created using the Clone feature, I use the default settings.
After the "Clone Data" is completed, the url address that shows in the top left of the WPToolkit screen has changed and lost its prefix of "Staging.",
The next issue is I can no longer login to the Staging site, even when I access the database via the WPToolkit Database Tab and change the password for the user, the user and passwords does not work.
The only way I can correct this is to delete the Subdomain and clone it again, but I cannot use the Copy Data feature as it breaks the Staging WPToolkit configuration.

Interesting - let me test this on my end and I'll let you know what I find out!

Can you let me know why you need to perform the Clone Data step when you're making the target the same as the staging site? After you make the clone, the original site and "staging" subdomain will be exactly the same, so there should not be a need to additionally use Clone Data.

The Clone Data feature is only used to initially create the Staging site, after that you only need to use the Copy Data feature. Yes after using the Clone feature the Staging site is an identical copy, but then you make your changes and then use the Copy Data feature to update or transfer the data from the one WP instance to the other.
This is the purpose of the features.
In the event that you have made some changes directly to the Live site and intend to make significant changes on the Staging site, as a safe measure so you dont corrupt or break the live site, you naturally need to perform a Copy Data from the Live site to the Staging site to make the two identical again. This is where the problem lies, it removes the url Prefix "Staging." before the url and corrupts the login details so you can no longer log into the Staging site, I have tried updating the password in PhpMyAdmin for the Staging site but are still not able to login.
Copying Data between a Live Site and a Staging site is a common practice, and that is why the features exist.
Where is the file located that WPToolkit relies on for the WPToolkit sites configuration?

Thanks for the great explanation. I'm going to come back to this issue on Monday since I think I'll need to speak with the WP Toolkit team a bit to see what their intended behavior is, or if this is a use case they hadn't considered.
I believe a developer would say this is working as intended - you cloned the live data to "staging" so the staging site, user, and password, no longer exist. That seems like exactly what a clone should do.
I'll see if I can get some more details early next week and I'll follow up!
