Application Manager
I'm trying to get Redmine installed through the application manager which I've setup before but can't get to work now. I'm getting error messages about missing gems that appear to come from ruby-dev.
The docs mention installing `ea-ruby27-ruby-devel` but this package isn't available when I try to install it. What is the recommended way to make that available?

Hey there! Do you have root access to the server? That would be required to install the ea-ruby27 package. That package is also only available on AlmaLinux 8 and RockyLinux 8.

If you are using version 9 of either of those operating systems you would want to install
ea-apache24-mod-passenger
instead.Additional details about the Application Manager tool can be found here: https://docs.cpanel.net/cpanel/software/application-manager/

Yes I have root access. I haven't been on the forums in awhile and had to make a new account because I couldn't get logged in with my old credentials. We can mark this one as resolved, I did wind up getting it done.

Could you share the resolution?

Server is running Alma 9 so `ea-apache-mod-passenger` was already installed. I also installed ruby-devel at some point in the troubleshooting. Not sure if that had any bearing on the process or not.
I got to a point in the logs where it had something to do with permissions, the cpanel user couldn't modify some of the folders in the gems library. They were installed in the user directory under the vendor folder and permissions looked good. In the interest of time I ended up just running the gem installation as root and then a chown on the newly installed gems to put ownership back on the user.

Can you confirm if cPanel made a change to accessing forums? Looks like it has something to do with the cpanel ID thing. I have some old posts that would be useful for reference but I had a tough time getting back in. This is despite controlling all of the email accounts and having stored credentials that were previously used to access the forums for almost 10 years.

Yes - we switched to a new software system last year, and now your cPanel ID will work both here and in our ticket system!
