Suggestions What To Do With My Second IP Address VPS
Hi, I got a second IP for my VPS thinking i had a use for it, but it turns out that in order to do what i wanted i would have to use DNS Cluster and i dont want to do that. If you are curious its the well known warning from intodns about both nameservers being on the same subnet. I thought i could solve that by getting another IP.
Anyway....
So i have an extra IP just sitting there with nothing to do. I am looking for suggestions on what i can use it for. My VPS cPanel is for a single account user, and that is me. So there wont be any more accounts created on it.
So what can i do with the IP that will be useful?
Thanks :)

Hey hey! I personally ignore that warning - some registrars really do make you configure nameservers on different subnets and have more strict requirements for their domains, specifically .de.
I'm not sure there's really a good use for it if you don't have any other accounts.

I could not think of a use either. When i first got it i was thinking i could put ns1 on one IP and ns2 on the other but that would not work because of the requirement to use DNS Cluster, and that means they have to be on two different machines, at least that is how i understand it.
One thing is for sure, i really wish i would have saved my CSF and server notes from the old days when i had my Dedi. Setting up CSF and the server would have been so much easier now that im not as sharp as i used to be :)
Well if anyone can think of a use for a extra IP, please let me know. :)

Give it back to the provider and not waste an IPV4 address?

I just may do that ffeingol
I'll noodle over it for a bit more though, maybe i can set up all of my email on a different IP. I give it a while longer. :)
