Configuring a WHM server as a webserver only

Hey there!  For the DNS configuration, you'll want to create that second machine as a DNS Cluster:

    https://docs.cpanel.net/whm/clusters/dns-cluster/

Your cluster member(s) can be a full cPanel & WHM server (in order to preserve the mail functions), but we also have a free DNSOnly product you can use for this purpose, although you couldn't use that *and* the email service on a machine at the same time.

For the mail function, after you have created your cluster server you would use the distributed nodes option outlined here:

    https://docs.cpanel.net/knowledge-base/general-systems-administration/cpanel-linked-nodes-guide/#cpanel-accounts-and-linked-nodes

I'd recommend reading through both of those guides and then working through those processes to get your configuration setup.  For technical assistance with either of these features, if you were to run into configuration issues, you would likely be better served through a support ticket so the DNS and server configurations are visible.

    Hey cPRex,

Thank you for your answer. I do have a DNSOnly Server plus a 'full' cPanel & WHM server, now what I want to add is a new one just for web sites, so I can maximize performance.

I'll read the distributed nodes documentation you pointed.

Thank you again for your help.

    Mauricio

    Hello again,

I've read the docs but it always talks about using the child node to offload mail services, not web, so is it recommended to do this way or one can offload web server to the child node?

    Regards,

    Mauricio

There isn't a feature for that specifically at this time, no.  That would make an excellent feature request if you'd like to submit one at features.cpanel.net!
