Email with "New Security Advisor notifications with High importance"
AnsweredHello,
We have a cPanel&WHM version 122.0.20, installed on Alma Linux 8 platform.
Last days, We received emails
Detected 1 service that is running outdated executables: httpd.service You must take one of the following actions to ensure the system is up-to-date:
• Restart the listed service using “systemctl restart httpd.service”; then click “Scan Again” to check non-service processes.
• Reboot the server.
In this email, there is always service httpd.service ....
Why do we receive such emails frequently and always related to service httpd?
Best regards,
Elizabeta

Hey there! Can you confirm that if you manually run the command
/usr/bin/needs-restarting
on the server that there is no output showing any services needing the be restarted?

Hello,
cPRex thank you for your answer. Three days ago, I have restarted cPanel server.
Now I have received this email
I have run/usr/bin/needs-restarting
there is no any results.
But When I go to WHM and Security Advisor:

Thanks for the additional details. All but one of those are just notifications letting you know about things on the machine that you may or may not care about. However, that third option does indicate the entire server needs to be rebooted in order for the updates to be applied.
