WHM/cPanel upgrade while hosted on Azure VM

In our current setup, we have WHM/cPanel version 110 installed on CentOS 7.9 in an Azure VM. Since this version is no longer supported, we need to migrate to AlmaLinux 8. Our setup requires this migration to be carried out in Azure VM environment rather than on a physical server. There are multiple approaches to this migration, but most are based on theoretical knowledge. If anyone here has experience with this process, could you please share which approach you found to be better and safer?

  Hey there!  Can you explain why the migration process would be different than a physical server?  Is the issue that you can't perform ELevate in that environment?

  If so, the best thing to do is create a new system and migrate the data over with the Transfer Tool.
