Issue with Adding Addon Domain - 500 Internal Server Error
Dear Support Team,
I am experiencing a problem while trying to add an addon domain to my cPanel account. Upon using the "Create a New Domain" option, I received the following error:
Error: The API request failed with the following error: 500 - Internal Server Error.

I’ve tried clearing the browser cache, checked the plan's addon domain limits, and reviewed DNS settings, but the issue persists. I also checked the error logs in cPanel but didn’t find additional details on the cause.
Could you please investigate this issue and advise on the next steps to resolve it?

Please note that I am experiencing this issue with adding addon domains across all cPanel accounts on my server. Also, this issue is occurring on my other 4 servers.

Hey there! Since you have root access to the server, what do you see inside the cPanel log file at /usr/local/cpanel/logs/error_log when you try this work? That's the first place to check for issues whenever there is a problem with the interface.

Attempted to add the addon domain, Please note subdomain was created but the actual domain is not created in Cpanel. I encountered the following error in /usr/local/cpanel/logs/error_log:
[2024-11-06 21:44:29 +0500] info [cpaneld] Internal Server Error: "POST /cpsess1193319209/json-api/cpanel HTTP/1.1" 500 Error ID cd7bdf292828

I purchased this from a vendor who is currently unreachable, so I’m unable to open a support ticket. I’ve noticed another issue: when I click on "Manage" in the Zone Editor, it takes 2–3 minutes to load, and additional errors are displayed. Could you please guide me on how to resolve this?

This part of the error is interesting:
Permission denied: You do not have the required privileges to run “get_current_profile”.
Are you logged in as root when performing this work or are you a reseller account?

I logged in as the root user and also tried logging directly into cPanel with the username and password. However, the issue with the addon domain and the slowness remain the same as I previously mentioned.
In my initial message, the error I mentioned appears on the domain creation page, and on the backend, it displays this message.
[2024-11-06 21:44:29 +0500] info [cpaneld] Internal Server Error: "POST /cpsess1193319209/json-api/cpanel HTTP/1.1" 500 Error ID cd7bdf292828
Kindly help me to resolve this issue.0 -
Unfortunately I don't believe we are going to be able to resolve this issue over the Forums - the issues with the account creation along with the slowness of the machine could indicate multiple issues happening.
At this point the server needs to be examined and you should continue to reach out to your provider for support. If your cPanel license was purchased directly through us you would be able to create a ticket with our team.
