A DNS entry for "" already exists

Hi.-

When trying to add a domain, the following error appears in the Cpanel:

Error: (XID wa7maz) A DNS entry for “eldominio.com” already exists. You must remove this DNS entry from this server or all servers in the DNS cluster to proceed.

We have searched for the DNS record for that domain and we did not find it.

How can we correct this error?

  Hey there!  If you aren't using a DNS Cluster, the search will be a bit more simple, but if you are using a DNS cluster you'll want to check the /var/named directory on each server to confirm the domain doesn't exist.

  I would start by running a similar search command on the local server to look for that domain:

  grep -Ri domain.com /var/named/

  as that would show every entry for the domain name in question in the directory that holds the DNS records.
